Open Cloud Testbed

The Open Cloud Testbed (OCT) is a national, NSF funded project supporting research and experimentation into new cloud technologies.

The NSF “Open Cloud Testbed” (OCT) project is building and supporting a testbed for research and experimentation into new cloud platforms – the underlying software which provides cloud services to applications. Testbeds such as OCT are critical for enabling research into new cloud technologies – research that requires experiments that potentially change the operation of the cloud itself. In this video, Michael Zink describes OCT and the development of a testbed for the research community exploring next-generation cloud platforms.

Co-led by MGHPCC founding members Boston University, Northeastern University and the University of Massachusetts, OCT hardware is housed at the MGHPCC.
